The Original Alpha Shovel™, is made from 5052 aluminum and was designed specifically for moving a lot of material like snow and dirt. That said, because the Original Alpha Shovel™ is built from a slightly weaker aluminum than the rest of DMOS’ shovels, it is not intended to be used on rougher surfaces, like pavement or gravel. If you are planning to use your Alpha for more serious work, we recommend that you use the Alpha 2, made from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum. Reach out to us with any concerns and we will do our best to do a trade-in of your Original Alpha for an Alpha 2.
