WHAT WE
STAND FOR

WARRANTY AND RETURNS

    BUILT TO LAST

  BUILT TO LAST

What makes DMOS unique is that we build our tools to be repairable and serviceable so that they last for life.

When we founded DMOS in 2015 it was with a belief in a heavy-duty shovel built with strength to survive. The collective backed our vision and stood by us because of what we stand for. We take pride in representing the values that drive us forward.

What makes DMOS unique is that we build our tools to be repairable and serviceable so that they last for life.

TOUGH AS NAILS

We strive to design, engineer, validate and fabricate the best shovels and gear in the U.S.A. With that being said, all tools wear. Maintenance is key. Read our guidelines below.

30-DAY RETURNS

We accept returns within 30 days of your order being delivered as long as it is unused and in the original packaging. A $15 restocking fee and the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.

IRON-CLAD WARRANTY

We stand behind our products and if there is a manufacturing error we will make it right. If your order qualifies for warranty you can send it in to us to fix or repair. Learn more below.

DMOS WEARS BUT STILL GETS THE JOB DONE

DMOS makes shovels.

DMOS shovels show wear when they dig, but they keep working and won’t fail you.

Other shovels break. Other shovels crack. Other shovels are built to fail so that the company that makes them has an ongoing revenue stream.

That’s not the case with DMOS.

DMOS builds with a “buy once, cry once” philosophy. We strive to design, engineer, validate and fabricate the best shovels and gear in the U.S.A. Furthermore, we take no shortcuts because we believe that when you’re “out there,” our products need to provide the dependability and strength to meet your demands.

Our products have met our strict quality parameters. That said, our products are subject to three limitations:

  1. Use as designed: Our shovels work as shovels, not as pry bars or striking tools, in temperatures ranging from -40 degrees celsius to 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Materials limitations: Steel will still rust, even if we powder coat it. Stainless spring pins may rust if left in water or not kept free from dirt. Aluminum shafts will not telescope easily with sand on them. DMOS products, like all products meant to last, need to be cleaned, sharpened and maintained.
  3. Normal wear over time on all shovel blades and handles: Scratches, scrapes, chipped paint and decals, or wear tears, rips, or abrasive wear of the shovel blades is to be expected with normal use. This is the natural process of using a tool. All tools wear.

30-DAY RETURNS

We’re confident you’ll love your DMOS products, but, if for some reason you are not completely satisfied, we will accept your unused DMOS product back with no questions asked, so long as you do so within 30 days of purchase and can provide proof of purchase from us or a DMOS-authorized reseller. Please note there is a $15 restocking fee and you will be charged the cost of shipping to send it back to us. We do not offer exchanges. If you change your mind it's a return and new order.

If you are returning product within the 30 day window of your order being delivered, your product must be in its original packaging and not have any damage and be unused. The cost of shipping and a $15 restocking fee will be automatically deducted from your refund. To start your return process, please contact DMOS customer service at customerservice@dmoscollective.com.

Note: we do not accept returns for used products.

IRONCLAD WARRANTY

If you have a troubleshooting issue you’d like immediate support on, please give us a call at 1-833-DIG-DMOS or email customerservice@dmoscollective.com. We often help our customers reassemble shafts, find pins that may have gotten stuck in a shaft, or collapse the shaft in the stored position.

However, sometimes there is an issue that isn't immediately resolvable and may have to do with deficiencies in material, workmanship or manufacturing defects. Please take a photo of your shovel, describe the defect as you see it and email us. Your shovel will be examined by our team and we will determine if it is a warranty item or a repair item. Products that are determined to be deficient under our warranty will be replaced or repaired at no material or labor cost to the original purchaser. Shipping the items for warranty repair or replacement is to be covered by the original purchaser. If it is a warranty item, DMOS will cover the return shipping to the purchaser.

DMOS warrants its products to the original purchaser for its intended use against deficiencies in material, workmanship or manufacturing defects for 1 year and applies only to the original owner. This Warranty does not cover products that are improperly used, abused, altered, or repaired or components that wear over time such as pins or worn blade teeth. Common sense dictates that if you drop your DMOS from a plane or use it as a pry bar and not as its intended use as a shovel, that is not covered as a warranty of manufacturing defects. Naturally, DMOS products will wear with use over time, and normal wear and tear is not warrantied (e.g. scratched, scraped or chipped paint or decals, wearing down or dulling of shovel teeth, etc.)

In order for your warranty claim to be approved, the following conditions must be met:

  • You must contact our customer service department (email warranty@dmoscollective.com) and secure an RMA number.
  • To get an RMA number, you need to provide proof of purchase.
  • You must have purchased the product from DMOS or a DMOS-authorized dealer;
  • You must return the product to DMOS and cover the cost of shipping to DMOS; and
  • You must have used the product only as intended and in accordance with the product’s instructions.

If a defect occurs during 1 year post purchase, and you satisfy the warranty conditions outlined above, we will, at our sole discretion, either repair or replace the defective product or part at no cost to you, the original purchaser, other than shipping costs.

We will make every effort to replace limited edition or discontinued products but cannot guarantee their availability for replacement. Any limited edition or discontinued product still under warranty that cannot be replaced with an identical product will be replaced with an equivalent model based on availability. We may make changes to products and designs in the time you purchased your product and submitted a warranty claim. Products repaired or replaced under this warranty may or may not incorporate these changes. Repaired or replaced product is warranted from the original purchase date.

The warranty does not cover: (a) defects caused by third-party: (i) modifications, (ii) repairs, or (iii) replacement parts; (b) normal wear and tear; or (c) the natural breakdown of materials over extended time and use (d) abuse and misuse of product.
